Let’s Mimic the Peacock
One of the most gorgeous birds in the world is of course the one and only (drumroll) peacock. With its royal blue, emerald green colors, and other fabulous features- Oh my! This bird deserves and Oscar and without further delay, let’s start showing our appreciation for its elegance and beauty by gracing our homes with its rich colors and amazing designs.
Every room needs a main color of focus. In this case for example, the main color is royal blue and the secondary color is emarald green. If mimicking this exact photo, you could accent these colors with dark purple and golden tones.
Accenting Amazingly
Okay, let’s do a quick test to see who’s listening… What is the theme again? Yes, peacocks! You may or may not be able to find feathers this large as you see in the picture above. However, don’t stress! Pampas grass will do the trick.
Imagine a gorgeous vase of tall pampas grass near a window with the sunlight glistening through its mesmerizing, fluffy, feather-like leaves. This will make a great addition to any peacock themed room. Click the tabs below to view pampas grass options.
Art for Pea’zazz
When decorating a room, the main objective is to already have a theme in mind. In this case, the theme is peacocks. The main colors based around the theme are royal blue, emerald green, and dark purple. Other colors may be slightly used to accent the main colors. As in the photo demonstrations, you’ll see a hint of sea green, fuchsia, grey… Also, the peacock is a bird of beauty and puts one in mind of being fancy or luxurious. Therefore, adding luxurious-looking accents is a must. However, notice the term ‘luxurious-looking’. We’re not trying to go broke decorating a room, so here’s where we use our brain and shop as thrifty as possible. Never fear, creative minds are capable of achieving this.
Next, decide on what type of concept you want, or in other words, what type of “feel” do you want your room to give? For example, maybe you want an ‘icy’ (rich bling) look or perhaps a natural ‘earthy’ look. If an icy look is what you’re going for, clear glass and mirrored accents will do the trick.
Click the tabs for ‘icy’ decor options. If going for a more natural look, try accents with earthy tones such as off-white, tan, light grey… You’ll also find some fabulous decor options with earthy tones by clicking those options.
Clutter is hardly ever a good thing; too many accented items in a room is a no-no. Keep it smart and simple. Whether you have a mental image of how you want your room to look, or if you’re the type that prefer to sketch a simple visual idea- either way, try to plan your spaces before you use them. Make it make sense and enjoy the experience. Your spaces should make you stand in your doorway and stare while saying, “I did that, and it’s fabulous!”
Sofas are the Life of the Party
What is the first thing you want to do when entering into a room or a living space? You want to get comfortable right? So take a seat- relax! That’s so much easier done than said when the sofas are cozy, or shall I say fabulous!
The Richness of Royal Blue and Emerald Green
Which colors would you accent with these two?
A royal blue throw flowing from your sofa chair resembling a mesmerizing waterfall- simply gorgeous!
Pillows making Chill'ows
Not sure what that means, but it sounds good. My fellow home interior decorators, surely you already know that pillows are the cherries on top. Not only are there a ton of color selections and sizes, but pillows can also be additional artwork added to your space as there are several pillow cover designs to choose. You don’t have to simply stick with the pillows that come with the sofa anymore. Actually, some sofas don’t come with pillows- therefore, get creative and add your very own pillow selections. For an even cozier space, keep in mind that pillows don’t necessarily only belong on a sofa or bed. Pillows can have a space on the floor; perhaps in a corner creating an instant lounge area.
